Those who know Charly Boy well however say he’s not someone who likes being a follower. He’s always a leader in everything he does and he’s now ready to take his rightful leadership position in the gay world

'My ex-wife attacked & spit on my girlfriend'- Usher testifies in court

Usher was in court today to testify against his ex-wife Tameka Foster, in their ongoing child custody trial, and the singer didn't go easy on his ex. According to TMZ, Usher told the court that Tameka flew into a jealous rage the day he showed up at her house with his girlfriend, Grace Miguel.

Usher testified that Tameka walked to his car and said, "Bitch get out of the car. I'm gonna kick your ass. How dare you bring this woman to my house?" she then pulled the door open, and tried to swing at Grace. Usher claimed that when he tried to block Tameka, she hit him, threw food at him and spat on his girlfriend.

Zuckerberg and 27-year-old Priscilla Chan wed at a small ceremony at his home in Palo Alto, California, on Saturday, capping a week during which the social network he founded listed on the share market for more than $100bn.

Zuckerberg took his company public in one of the most anticipated moves in Wall Street history on Friday. Chan graduated from medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, on Monday, the same day Zuckerberg turned 28.

The couple met at Harvard and have been together for more than nine years.

A company spokeswoman said Zuckerberg designed the ring featuring "a very simple ruby" himself.

The ceremony took place in Zuckerberg's backyard before fewer than 100 guests, who all thought they were there to celebrate Chan's graduation.

Tens of thousands of people "liked" his status change, which was accompanied by a photo of the couple in wedding attire.

The 28-year-old multi-billionaire is also the chief executive of Facebook, which had an historic initial public offering on the Nasdaq stock exchange on Friday

You can clearly see that Will is incredibly pissed that the guy showed overt affection toward him. A source on scene tells TMZ, the reporter's mouth brushed up against Will's and that's why the actor reacted so violently. GEJ Now Eats Abakaliki/Ofada Rice & Cassava Bread - Min. Maku

President Goodluck Jonathan now eats locally produced rice and bread made from cassava as part of efforts to encourage indigenous production and stop capital flight, says Minister of Information Labaran Maku. Maku disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday at the Ministerial Platform where the Ministries of Science and Technology, Defense, Niger Delta Affairs and the FCT presented their performance sheet in the last one year. ``The President is emphasising made in Nigeria products; if you go to the President’s house today, he eats rice produced in Ebonyi State – Abakaliki - Ofada Rice; the imported rice is not eaten in the Presidential Villa. ``Also there, he eats Cassava Bread that has just been introduced, which is saving Nigeria almost N300 billion in imports. ``From what is going on, if we emphasise and urge Nigerians to patronise the things that are researched and produced here, the country will develop.” He said that the country would develop only when Nigerians begin to patronise goods researched and manufactured locally. While commending the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology for its research-based development efforts, Maku said a new Science, Technology and Innovation Policy was required to promote national development. Maku called on all stakeholders in the country to take advantage of the vast opportunities in science and technology to develop the country. ``The new Science Technology and Innovation Policy remains what is going to be the prop for the development of science and technology in our country. ``We never can develop as a nation until we pay attention to science and technology; the difference between America, Europe, Asia and us is the emphasis on science and technology and human capital development. ``I want to assure you from what you have seen that intellectual property, creativity, is what we need to advance the development of our country.” The minister urged the science and technology ministry not to relent in promoting scientific and technological research and development, so that by 2015, a lot of the demands in Nigeria would be met. Maku also called for collaboration between the defense and science and technology ministries for the local production of military boots. According to him, Nigeria has a large market, which has always attracted investors. He, however, urged Nigerians to play significant roles in meeting the needs of the market. (NAN)

D'Banj Signs Davido

Dapo ‘D’banj‘ Oyebanjo has signed to his new (yet unnamed) record label the fast rising pop star David ‘Davido‘ Adeleke NET investigations confirmed the signing took place on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the 19-year-old’s house in Lekki after a five-man meeting involving D’banj, his manager Abisagboola ‘Bankulli’ Oluseun, Davido, his manager Asa Asika and father Deji Adeleke. After the signing, both acts and their crew members then headed out to the weekly Industry Nite at the Oriental Hotels to celebrate. NET had earlier reported D’banj making his first ever post-Mo’Hits public appearance at the weekly gig where he gave a surprise performance with artiste of the night Ikechukwu. We’re still working to get details of the deal particulars, but sources say talks started weeks before both acts met in the US. D’banj and Davido were both spotted at the famous strippers joint - Diamonds Of Atlanta Gentlemans Club in Atlanta. Davido’s manager when contacted however played down the news of the signing insisting that both parties are still in talks. ‘We are still in talks, that’s all I have to say for now, it could take a day or a year‘, Asa Asika told NET in a phone conversation. D’banj’s camp was yet to respond to our E-mails as at the time of filing in this report. D’banj recently signed to Mercury Records UK through the G.O.O.D Music label imprint. Davido had until now remained an unsigned act but has in the past year risen to A-list status with just three singles out. He now joins D’banj’s younger brother KSwitch on the label which, according to insiders, will be affiliated to Island Def Jam Africa.

HP,LG And Samsung To Lose As FG Enforces Ban On Foreign Computers

Entertainment News
Hewlett-Packard, Samsung, LG and other foreign Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) will lose their grip on Nigeria’s Personal Computer (PC) market as the Federal Government yesterday finally moved to enforce a comprehensive ban on foreign computers and technology products in public institutions, including schools. The aim of the ban is to encourage patronage of ‘Made-in-Nigeria’ products and foster growth in the local Information Communications Technology (ICT) industry. Cleopas Anganye, director-general of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) made this declaration on Tuesday, at a two-day retreat on draft guidelines for home grown IT hardware products. Stressing the importance of benchmarking Nigeria’s IT products against international standards in order to make them competitive and marketable globally, Angaye further declared that the procurement by public institutions, of non made-in-Nigeria computers, where certified local brands exist, would be an offence punishable by a prison term and fine, under the NITDA Act. Industry analysts told Business Day yesterday that Nigeria’s computer hardware market has remained underdeveloped due to poor policy formulation and implementation by government, as well as the attendant high cost of equipment acquisition in Nigeria. According to the analysts, inspite of the growing number of local OEMs and resellers, and the significant growth recorded in the telecommunications industry after the sector was deregulated in 2001; PC penetration remains very low at 7 per 1, 000 Nigerians. Angaye noted that the Federal Government’s accreditation of computer assembly plants had expired. This, he added, called for the development of new standards for computer manufacturing in the country. After the conclusion of the retreat and subsequent issuance of the new guidelines, the NITDA boss explained, it would be regarded as economic sabotage if Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) did not patronise Nigerian IT products. Angaye, represented at the retreat by director, standards and regulation, NITDA, Inye Kemabonta, said the IT implementing agency would in the next fortnight, launch a monitoring scheme to ensure compliance by all public institutions across Nigeria. According to NITDA, under its enabling laws, three key actions would be offences punishable by prison terms, fines or both, if flouted in the emerging dispensation. First, the public procurement of non made-in-Nigeria computers and IT products where certified local brands exist, is an offence. Secondly, the display and use of non made-in-Nigeria computers in government offices and for government business, where certified local brands are available, is also an offence punishable by law. Lastly, use of non made-in-Nigeria computers in public schools at all levels is likewise an offence. In the same vein, Chris Uwaje, president of the Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) enjoined government to provide the enabling environment for indigenous computer manufacturers to thrive. Angaye further added, “To benefit from this policy, multinational companies are invited to set up production or assembly plants in Nigeria. According to him, with more than half the population of West Africa, Nigeria has a large enough market to justify foreign direct investment in IT. “Instead, one finds that all the multinational firms operate only marketing and sales promotion offices. The transformation of Nigeria into a developed economy cannot be achieved by being a consumer nation. “Use of non made-in-Nigeria computers in public schools at all levels. NITDA will seek the collaboration of the Federal Ministry of Education to ensure that the accreditation of schools and renewal of accreditation will depend partly on the establishment of Information Technology labs equipped with locally manufactured IT products”, Angaye concluded. Local computer manufacturers at the retreat expressed confidence in government’s renewed efforts to develop the IT industry, create employment through local assembly of computers and build the capacity of Nigerian IT entrepreneurs. “I do not see any reason why our people shy away from locally made PCs. If you open a locally made PCs and other foreign brands, you will find the same components in all of them. We all buy from the same component manufacturer. If given a chance, we can compete favourably with the foreign brands. We already have the policies on ground that support usage of locally made computers. I think the fundamental issue militating against the development of the industry is implementation of these policies”, Tunde Balogun, president of the Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria (CAPDAN) said

In an attempt to reduce the volume of cash baggage and security exposure in cash transactions, the Central Bank of Nigeria may be contemplating the introduction of new currency denominations of N2,000 and N5,000. The bank has also made plans to convert N5, N10, N20 and N50 into coins which are all presently notes. The policy would make it easier to move large quantities of cash around with little exposure to risk, but financial critics have suggested that it would be a contradiction to the CBN policy to migrate to a cashless economy. Spokesman of the Central Bank Ugochukwu Okorafor, who spoke to newsmen on sunday, however, said he could not confirm that the bank’s governing board was thinking of introducing two new denominations in addition to the existing ones. And as at press time yesterday, the CBN spokesman was unable to reach any of the bank’s directors. A financial expert and executive chairman of the Society for Analytical Economics, Nigeria, Dr. Godwin Owoh, has said that if the policy is carried out, it would not only lead to inflation but would increase the ability to carry out cash transactions. Senate slashes Number Plates Price to N8,400, Driver's Licence to N4000

Senate slashes cost of number plates to N8, 400 For those who haven’t gotten the new vehicle number plate and driver’s licence, here is good news. The Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs has recommended the reduction of the cost of the new plates from N15,000 to N8,400. The committee also recommended that the cost of driver’s licence should be reduced from N6,000 to N4,000. It directed the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to recommence the issuance of the new number plates and licenses which was earlier suspended. The recommendations were contained in the committee’s report, following an investigation into the issue of new number plates. The committee also ordered that the cost of motorcycle number plates put at N3,000 should revert to the old price of N1,500; the licences are to remain at N750. It also directed the cessation of the collection of e-coding scheme and the collection of N2,000 per vehicle by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO). According to the report: “The FRSC should call for the replacement of Driver’s Licences only at the point of renewal upon expiration to avoid double payment.” The committee also observed that the August deadline for the change was no longer realistic, citing the exorbitant cost and the time lapse during the National Assembly’s intervention. It further recommended that the police should cease its Biometric Central Motor Registry (BCMR) which would also attract N3,500 from vehicle owners, to avoid duplication and additional burden on Nigerians.

Entertainment News

“The Police Force should synergise its idea of biometric data collection and collaborate with FRSC ,which has an existing data base,” the committee said. Other details of the recommendation showed that articulated vehicles will now pay N11, 200, instead of the N20,000 stipulated by the FRSC. Privileged, fancy or personalised numbers were left as recommended by the FRSC. However, dealer number plates which was cost N30,000 was slashed to N16,800, while government’s input at N15,000 was reduced to N10,000. The committee urged the FRSC to embark on a massive orientation and enlightenment of the people to highlight the advantages of the new plates. Although the production of the number plates cost N7,590, which is offered to the states at N7500, the states offer it to the public at N15,000. “The additional charge by the states on the cost of production of the two items is a tax levied on vehicle users to enable states raise revenue to render service in that regard, hence the disparity in the costs of license and plate number fees from state to state. “However, the committee found this unacceptable as it will create more hardship on the average Nigerian and vehicle users,” it added.

Miracle Baby Born With Quran At A White Garment Church in Mushin, Lagos State

Breaking Entertainment news div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A big controversy is raging in Lagos following the birth of a baby boy said to be clutching a miniature Holy Quran at birth. The baby was born at a white garment church in Mushin, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria. •The mystery baby. Inset: The miniature Holy Quran While some dispute the claim, others say it is possible. A large crowd gathered at 1, Sonde Street, Ijeshatedo, Lagos home of the boy’s parents yesterday, as news of the birth spread rapidly. His mother, Mrs. Kikelomo Ilori, 32, a Cosmetologist, told P.M.NEWS that he was born on Monday after she had carried the pregnancy for about 10 months. The single mother claimed she was abandoned by her husband who denied responsibility for the pregnancy and encouraged her to abort it. The woman told P.M.NEWS yesterday: “When I refused to abort the pregnancy, he deserted me, saying ‘that is your own problem’.” Mrs. Ilori expressed surprise at the birth of the boy. She added that the nurse who delivered her of the baby was physically challenged, but went about it commendably. “When my baby was delivered holding a Quran in his hand, the nurse said the Quran should be thrown away. But I insisted my mother must see it before any action could be taken,” Kikelomo, who is a Christian, further explained. Corroborating the story, Senior Rev. Victoria Yetunde Dada said during the pregnancy, Kikelomo was always coming to her for prayers and counselling. “I advised her not to abort the pregnancy because she might die in the process. Again, I told her the foetus was sent by God and will be great,” Apostle Mother Dada told our correspondent. Controversy has continued to trail the seemingly spurious claim. Reacting, Medical Director of Bodet Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, Dr. Bode Tawak said scientifically, it was not possible for a baby to be born holding a Quran. “How big is the baby’s hand to hold the Quran? How big is the Quran? How did the Quran get into her mother’s womb? I don’t know how a Quran can get into a womb. But there are things you can’t explain,” Dr. Tawak responded. He said while the incident cannot be explained medically, in Nigeria many mysterious things happen. A Kaduna-based medical practitioner, Dr. Munir Yusuf said from a medical point of view, it was not possible, but added that depending on the size of the Quran, it was possible metaphysically. He explained that if the Quran is small enough to pass through the diameter of the womanliness, with the child, it is possible. In the same vein, a herbal medicine practitioner, Chief Dr. Bola Adegunloye believes nothing is impossible, but said too much importance must not be placed on the incident.
