10 Reasons Why Every Nigerian Woman Should Visit A Strip Club (At Least Once)

 Do you agree with this article, guys?
Written by Jessica Cook

The popular perception of strip clubs tends towards the notion that these venues are “Gentleman’s Clubs”, geared exclusively toward fostering misogynist attitudes to women, and the devaluing of the female body.

But are these opinions or views outdated? After all, as the habit of hen-nights hiring male strippers will attest, striptease is not only for men.

In many ways, this article plays the devil’s advocate, but then, here are 10 good reasons why women need to visit a strip club, at least once!

N7,000 a month? How do we enforce minimum wage in Nigeria?

I ran into a woman this week who earns N7,000 a month at restaurant in Surulere. She's required to resume by 8 in the morning and close at 8pm everyday, Monday to Saturday. She lives in Orile, which means she pays transport to get from her house to work every day. She told me that her boss gives her N200 every week as transport allowance. And she feels lucky!

I asked her why do you do this job, how can N7,000 help you survive in a month? And her reply was;

"N7,000 small? Many of the people wey I know no dey even earn reach N5,000 for one month. My small sister dey work for supermarket dey earn N4,000. Where I dey live people dey roam about they beg money wey dem go take buy food chop. Some people no dey even see N50 for one week. With my salary I go buy food stuff put for house for my pikin dem. I no dey too spend money for transport because I dey wake up early to trek reach (she mentioned the place - can't remember) from there I take bus reach Bode Thomas. And I dey collect N200 every week, so that one sef dey help."

I was amazed at how satisfied she was with earning that amount of money and surviving well on it, especially with two kids. But isn't the minimum wage in Nigeria supposed to be N18,000? There are millions of Nigerians who earn way less than that. Is there something that can be done about it? Is the Nigerian minimum wage applicable to private business owners or just government workers?

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, Is Considering Running For President In 2015

While trying to deny a Daily Sun Newspaper report that he was in the APC Vice Presidential race, Governor Rochas, in a press release, instead made public that he was considering running for President come 2015. According to the press release: Against the backdrop of SunNews' report, the Imo State government wishes to put the record straight with regard to the ambition of the Imo State Governor in 2015. And to also correct the impression that the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is in the race for the Vice-Presidential slot of the APC, as the Daily Sun caption had suggested. The truth of the matter is that Governor Okorocha is not in the VP race in APC. There has been unprecedented pressure on the governor by Nigerians from all walks of life to vie for the Presidency and he has been consulting on that. His consultations have not been on the VP slot but on the presidency and at the end of the consultations, he would decide whether to throw his hat into the ring for the presidential race or not. The pressure is also on the Imo governor by well meaning citizens of Imo State, including the artisans, farmers, traders, students, etal in the state to ensure the completion of the transformation he has begun in the state by seeking re-election in 2015. And the governor is also yet to decide on that. However, it is also good that the stakeholders said to have met according to the Daily Sun story where the name of the governor was mentioned for the VP race must have seen the qualities in him and what his administration has been doing in Imo that made them to consider him for the VP position. While we appreciate that, the fact remains that Governor Okorocha is not in the race for VP for 2015. However, everything depends on God who gives power. 'Naomi poured acid over herself to achieve fame & fortune' - accused attacker claims

Mary Konye, the 21 year old jealous friend being accused of attacking Naomi Oni with acid in Dec. 2012 made some shocking allegations of her own in court today. She told the courts through her lawyers that Naomi set up the attack and asked her (Mary Konye) to 'play the stalker' and throw the acid on her face, which was all part of an elaborate plan to be rich and famous. This makes no sense to me. Why would you want to do that to yourself to be rich and famous? How many rich and famous people have their faces disfigured by acid? The things you hear. Continue...

Ladies, Stop Asking Men To Buy You Things - OAP Gbemi

Gbemi is an OAP with BeatFM and she shared these words about transactional relationships on Twitter which made a lot of sense. Remember that's what really sparked the outrage towards Basketmouth's rape tweet. So, after Gbemi made her tweets, to her surprise, her followers replied her saying she was being too American by sharing these tweets. That here is not Yankee and this is how relationships work in Nigeria - money for hand, back for ground. One actually told her to keep quiet , that she's saying all these because she is privileged, that not everyone has a good job like she does. Do you think Gbemi's tweets are not practicable here in Nigeria? Tweets continue
